Certified quality management systems create customer trust
The certification of quality management (QM) systems in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 creates the necessary customer trust in consistent quality — in particular with Vds-approved products and services. For this reason, VdS requires proof of a QM system certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 in the context of its product and installer approval processes.
As early as 1991, VdS extended its range of services to include the certification of QM systems, becoming in 1992, as one of the first certifiers in Germany, accredited by the German Association for Accreditation GmbH (Trägergemeinschaft für Akkreditierung GmbH, TGA). Meanwhile, the QM systems of more than 1,200 companies from a variety of industry sectors have been audited and certified. This has been a huge success: Involved companies confirm that through the introduction of a QM system, the expert knowledge in a company is safeguarded, business processes become clearer, and costs are decreased. Additional advantages of a well-functioning QM system include fault avoidance as early as the development/project planning phase and fewer complaints and warranty claims owing to a uniformly high quality of products, services, or both.
